Description
Prometheus Cave, located near the village of Kumistavi in Tskaltubo Municipality, is one of the most impressive natural attractions in Georgia’s Imereti region. This spectacular karst cave is known for its stalactites, stalagmites, stone curtains, underground lakes and waterfalls. Twenty-two halls have been discovered inside the cave, six of which are open to visitors: the Halls of Argonauts, Colchis, Medea, Love, Prometheus and Iberia. The tourist route follows a specially equipped walkway, while the visit can be completed with a boat ride along the underground Kumi River.
