Description
Batumi Botanical Garden is one of the largest and most picturesque gardens in the post-Soviet space. Imagine a place where palm trees grow next to Japanese sakura, and bamboo forests rustle in the wind right above the sea. Founded during the reign of Emperor Nicholas II, the garden spans 111 hectares. Its main highlight is the unique landscape: plant collections (over 5,000 species) are arranged according to geographical principles. You can stroll through the Himalayas, South America, the Mediterranean, and Japan — all in just one day. The garden descends toward the Black Sea in nine cascading terraces. Narrow paths, shady alleys, a tea house, and evergreen trees — even in winter. Advice: bring water, wear comfortable shoes.
